Baby Jacie is 1 Month

I turned 1 month today, and my big brother and big sister decided to give me a birthday present…… a cold! I wasn’t suppose to go to the doctor until Thursday, but since I sounded congested, was gagging on my own phlegm, and wouldn’t sleep unless I was laying propped up on somebody, Mama thought I should go in early. It was a good thing I did, because now I am quarantined to Mama and Dada’s room.

Mama has always said that I’m a big baby, but that’s because she keeps comparing me to my Zha Zha and JJ who were 3 weeks premature. I was only 1 week early, so of course I’m going to be bigger. I guess Mama wasn’t expecting me to weigh this much….

For those of you that can’t really read the numbers or think you’re seeing things, I weighed in at 9lbs 12 oz!!! Mama has already started putting me in some 3 months clothes too. Watch for more stats on Thursday.

Hair Wash

Mama hasn’t washed my hair in a while, so she was surprised at what she got when she got me ready for big brother and sister’s party. Since sister had curly hair, she wasn’t too surprised to see a little curl, but she was totally shocked by the hair sticking up. My hair turns out to be a little like brother (spikey) and a little like sister (curly). Here’s a pic to see for yourself (It’s a little hard to see, but you can only imagine).

Birthday Party

Even though we turned 2 a couple months ago, Mama and Dada wanted to throw us a real party when both our Ma’s were here and baby Jacie was a little bit older. Mama invited all our friends to make play dough, play with stickers, and decorate rice crispy treats. I think everyone’s favorite activity was the rice crispy treats. We got to decorate using M&M’s, raisins, cookies, sprinkles, fruit snacks, and frosting. Mama was amazed that neither of us tried any of the goodies.

After we ate lunch, Mama and Dada brought us out our own cakes. All JJ could see was the “Choo Choo” and all Zha Zha could see was the frosting. Zha Zha even checked out the frosting before we had a chance to blow out our candles. JJ went around telling everyone he had “ice cream”, when in reality he was talking about the whipped cream on the cake.

After everyone left and we woke up from our naps, we tackled the opening of the presents. Mama was amazed at how much more interested we were in opening our presents compared to Christmas time.  JJ’s favorite present was the train set that Auntie Yah (Kelly) bought for us to share, except JJ didn’t really want to share. Zha Zha was upset that she couldn’t play too, so Mama told her to go and get another gift. While Zha Zha was picking a present to open, she said to both Ma’s “Wouldn’t it be a miracle if that gift was a train set too?” Well Mama got her miracle, because it just so happened that there was another train set and everyone was happy.

Mama could not have made this party a sucess if it wasn’t for the help of both Ma’s. One Ma helped with the cooking, and the other Ma watched Baby Jacie. While Mama took care of the activities and guests. Mama learned a very important lesson from the party….. have it some place else where someone else worries about the food, activities, and mess!!!

Thank you to everyone who made sure we had a very special day!

Laundry Basket Fun

We’ve always enjoyed playing in the laundry basket when it’s out. Lately, we just push it around on the floor. For some reason, we forgot that we could climb in it until recently…. We don’t fit as well as we used to, but we can make it work.

Choo Choo

We’ve really been into trains recently. We watch any show or movie that has trains in it like “The Polar Express” and “Thomas and Friends” and recently Dada found us a new show called “Chuggington”. Mama has taken us to different play groups that have to deal with trains. The last time we went to the mall, Mama let us get on the train that went around and around in circles while our Mas shopped. Here we are having a great time.

Then today, Mama and both Ma’s took us to the Museum of Transportation to play with more trains. We just can’t get enough (especially JJ).

Jacie’s Swing

JJ and Zha Zha never liked the swing when we were little, so when cousins Jacquelyn and Elyse were born, it got sent to California to be used. But Mama had to ask for it back for Baby Jacie. According to the nurses in the hospital, Jacie loved the swing. And sure enough, she loves it. The key is to put her in it before she starts fussing, if she has already started it’s no good.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll

Mama and Ma decided that we needed to get out for an activity, so they took us to a music class put on by our PAT program. We made tambourines and shakers, then we learned about percussion instruments. As soon as the teacher let us play the instruments, JJ made a B line for the drums and had a blast playing them. Here we are making our instruments.

J-O-C-E-L-Y-N

I’ve learned to spell my name. Last week, I only knew the first 3 letters, but today I was able to put it all together!

The Girl has Lungs

MAMA: As I was updating the blog, I came across this video that Jeff took of Jacie when she was born. It was kind of embarrassing when a new nurse came on and was told “Baby Girl Jim really has  a set of lungs!” I’ll let you be the judge for yourself!

Double Take

JACIE: From the moment I was born, Mama and Dada have said that I look just like my big sister. We’ll let you be the judge of that, can you tell which picture is me and which one is Jocelyn???

What about when we are sleeping????

MAMA and DADA: For those of you that are dying to know, the pictures on the left are Jocelyn, and the pictures on the right are Jacie.
